Dear participant,

my name is Matjaž Regovec. »Sex and Personality« is a scientific research and is a part of my doctorate study at the Psychology Department of the Faculty of Arts at the University in Ljubljana, and in cooperation with the IPAL research Institute, mentored by prof. dr. Janek Musek. The aim of this research is to answer some important scientific questions in the fields of sexuality and personality characteristics.

If you decide to take part in the research, your task is going to be to fill out some questionnaires, in which you are going to be asked about some of your personality characteristics and about some aspects of your sexual life, for which you will need about 30-40 minutes. This needs to be done in one go, so please try to ensure enough time for your work. Although it is important for the research that all questions be answered fully, we are going to understand that you may not be ready to answer all of them.

There are no risks in connection to participation in this survey. Some questions are of intimate nature, and may appear to feel uncomfortable.

Beside the practical experience and knowledge, there are no special benefits for your cooperation in the research, and there is no financial remuneration for your participation. However, should you wish so, you will be able to obtain some results indicating your personality characteristics.

Although there is no significant financial funding for this research, there will be an opportunity to use a discount of 5€ or 5$ respectively that you will be able to use when purchasing quality psychology and other books at two publishing houses (one Slovenian and one American) that are sponsoring our research.

Your cooperation in the research is completely voluntary and you may freely terminate it at any point.

We have done everything in order to protect your anonymity. Your experiences and the accompanying data (age, sex) are going to be scientifically coded. The data base will be preserved under the Law of protection of personal information, i.e. under conditions that ensure security of the personal data and full anonymity when using the data for research purposes. Only group results will be published and available for possible further research use within the scientific community. Your identity will not be revealed under any circumstances.
